I wandered lost in thought,
And on the cliffs of Batanes.
In crepuscular rays you stood,
The one my reveries had brought.
Our glances locked, igniting fast,
Hearts were beating wild,
We talked of poems and the past,
As midnight reconciled
The dreamer and the man in me
As winds through Batanes grasslands roamed,
As I fell deep into this new stage
I once thought this wasn’t made for me
That I was better off just one
But you showed me differently patiently
Like the rising, setting sun
That vespertine you asked me the question
Holds now like a spark set to flame…
BRAVE
ReplyDeleteThe transition from the dream to reality in such a stunning location is just chef's kiss. I love you estefaaano_writes!
ReplyDeleteI love how the poem acknowledges the initial hesitation about romance and then the patient unfolding of something real. It's so relatable! Sumusobra kana 😂
ReplyDeleteBatanes! What an incredible setting for a romantic encounter. The cliffs and the sunset just amplify the whole dreamy vibe of the poem. BEAUTIFUL
ReplyDeleteThe rugged beauty of that place must have made the encounter even more memorable
ReplyDeleteThe way you connect the dream from the first poem to this real-life encounter is seamless.
