Dear Time,

Dear Time,

They told me you were medicine,

The cure for everything.

But you move so slowly,

Time,

Like honey in winter.

Minutes feels like marble,

Heavy with memory.

When will you start running again?

When will the clock be kind?

Perhaps you're teaching me

That healing isn't racing,

That some wounds need to be felt

Every slow second at a time.

Time can feel so slow when you're hurting.
    Beautifully expressed.

  2. That's exactly how healing feels sometimes. You just want it to hurry up!

Short and sweet, but it really captures that feeling of time dragging when you're hurting. We've all been there.

When will the clock be kind? Amen to that! Sometimes you just want to fast-forward through the hurt.

Healing takes time. No use rushing it. Feel it, process it, move on. Simple as that (in theory, anyway)

understanding that some wounds need to be felt, "every slow second at a time," is a great truth you often touch upon with such grace.
