eloquent deception

eloquent deception

"The most dangerous form of deception is the kind that we deceive ourselves with."

-

Your words, a mosaic of borrowed wisdom

Pieced together from self-help platitudes

Captivate me, despite myself.

You cherry-pick profundities,

Claiming them as your own.

"Love everyone," you proclaim,

A golden rule plucked from countless pages.

Your voice, soft and measured,

Belies the manipulation beneath.

Leonard Cohen's words become your scripture,

A highbrow shield for lowbrow intent.

But understand this:

Eloquence alone does not make a man.

You speak of empathy and understanding,

But your actions sow chaos and heartbreak.

You run from the wreckage you've created,

Breath wasted on performative meditation.

You'd play the role of the perfect partner,

If only your transformations weren't fleeting.

Psychedelic epiphanies fade like sugar in rain,

Leaving behind the same old patterns.

You crash through lives like stolen cars,

Abandoning the wreckage without a glance.

My mind becomes your playground,

A fetish for emotional havoc.

But understand this:

Actions misaligned with words do not make a man.

You come, you conquer, you leave—

A cycle of false growth and real destruction.

But understand, finally, this:

The art of leaving does not make you a man.

It unmakes you.
