chemistry?

v. chemistry?

estefaaano_writes

chemistry rare as bone marrow.

left me on the stairs spine unlocked.

didn't care i was scared the beast woke,

do you see it clawing inside my ribs?

creeping up,

sweeping up shards of all i've shattered.

of all the things i've done .

i'm well aware

of that burning stare molten;

if this ends as endings must…

i've come prepared.

i've clipped a tight leash,

left it dangling to the oak tree bark.

and you're guarding the yard perfectly.

don't you feel a little stuck

when we're out of touch?

i'll dig up what you hide.

crying doesn't suit you well.

don't you worry,

i'll never tell a soul about our secret life.

inside the house

cat chases mouse.

your mother looks and says

“some things we just don't talk about”

better watch your mouth.

don't let yourself get proud.

don't forget the message,

left inside the couch.

down the drain you go,

poor unfortunate soul.

got involved with someone

you really didn't know.

what i'd like to do

is make a deal with you.

"Crying doesn't suit you well." That is such a cold, complicated thing to say to someone you have "chemistry" with.

Are we the cat or the mouse in this scenario? Because I feel like I'm being hunted by these words.

"Got involved with someone you really didn't know."
This is the horror story hidden inside a love poem.

  9. estefaaano_writes, this feels so different from the other poems. It’s gritty, dark, and a little bit mean. I love this side of your writing.

The switch from poetry to this kind of psychological thriller vibe is insane. 'The beast woke'—I’m looking over my shoulder now.

Every lonely hearted man has a house like this.
