UNBOUND II
unbound II

-
i’ve loved the love itself,
and the idea of something,
binding us together
you know that love carves deeper
than bone and names.
i’ve seen time tell tales
about that subtle elixir,
heart hammering against ribs
like a caged animal.
it’s collectively,
unconsciously composed.
i lost my head in the high ridges,
holding out for the fog to lift,
but I found it floating in rain clouds
it was smiling down,
cool and tender against my skin.
do you feel the love?
because i do.
why won't you just let it flood free?
pour out of your soul,
until we're both drowning.
desire and vulnerability
ReplyDelete"heart hammering against ribs like a caged animal" is so vivid
ReplyDeleteit's that yearning for someone to meet you at that same depth, to let it all go and just be in the love.
ReplyDeleteI love it! so beautiful and vulnerable.
The raw honesty of this poem is incredible, estefaaano_writes!!!
ReplyDeleteThe image of finding your head 'floating in rain clouds' after being lost in the 'high ridges' is a beautiful metaphor for clarity found in surrender.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant.
this is like that spiritual connection you feel with someone, where words aren't enough.
ReplyDeletescreaming!!!!
ReplyDeletenot just wanting love, but wanting it without bounds.
tbh, we all know how good you are in writing estefaaano_writes. always been an inspiration to me.
ReplyDeleteI love a lot of your pieces. And thisssss the progression from the abstract 'love itself' to the concrete, almost physical longing to 'drown' in it, is masterfully done (as always).
wish I could meet you soon. 🤍
