Co-accident
Co-accident

We were a beautiful co-accident
A doctor by day, a lover by night.
We were a chemical reaction,
Serotonin and adrenaline,
Perfectly blended.
White coats discarded,
We discovered,
The anatomy of love,
Layer by layer.
We were diagnosis undefined,
Symptoms of joy,
Prognosis unknown.
Our connection,
An anomaly in the charts.
Pulses racing beyond medical explanation.
We were an experiment in intimacy,
Hypothesis: Two hearts beat as one.
Data collected in shared moments,
Through rounds and rushed embraces.
We were a beautiful co-accident,
A remedy for loneliness,
A cure for mundane.
You always looked sexy,
With those scrubs on,
Even sexier without it.
Your mind never fails to surprise me,
Brilliance is an understatement.
We were a beautiful co-accident,
The way your eyes lit up,
When discussing rare cases,
And stolen kisses.
In another life perhaps,
We might have been more,
Than a beautiful relapse.
This is such a unique and clever way to describe a relationship!
ReplyDeletemakes the connection feel both intellectual and deeply passionate

ReplyDeleteThe clinical language juxtaposed with the raw emotion creates such an intriguing dynamic. The talent you have estefaaano_writes!
ReplyDeleteThe verse about brilliance being an understatement when describing their mind is such a lovely, personal touch. It makes the connection feel deeper than just physical attraction.

DeleteIt's fascinating how the poem uses the idea of an "anomaly in the charts" to describe a love that defies typical expectations or definitions.
ReplyDeleteoh this one's special!!!
ReplyDeleteA DOCTOR!?!?!?!?
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH! How do you even manage to make the poem be both intellectual and sensual, which is a rare and compelling combination.

Deleteah yes, this one's: "brilliance is an understatement"
DeleteI don't know about y'all but the title itself, "Co-accident," is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI've very excited to read this one when he released the cover.
And he never really disappoints!!!
Interesting analogy with the chemical reaction. Serotonin and adrenaline – yeah, that initial rush of attraction can feel pretty potent.
ReplyDeleteOkay, 'a remedy for loneliness, a cure for mundane' just stole my heart. That's what you hope for in a connection, right?
ReplyDeleteEven if it's a 'co-accident,' sometimes those are the best kind!
It's that bittersweet acknowledgment that timing and circumstances can shape even the most beautiful connections.
ReplyDeleteMakes you wonder, you know?
Really creative writing.
ReplyDeleteReading about the stolen kisses and the scrubs... let's just say you've painted a very intriguing picture. 👀
ReplyDeleteLook, sometimes you just click with someone, right? Doesn't always have to make perfect sense. "Beautiful co-accident" sums that up pretty well.
ReplyDeleteEven if it wasn't meant to last forever, those intense, almost accidental connections can leave such a lasting impression.

Okay, the scrubs comment?
ReplyDeleteTotally understandable.
The idea of a "beautiful relapse" makes you ponder the nature of connection.
ReplyDeleteAre some people just meant to cross our paths, even if it's just for a season?
"Symptoms of joy, prognosis unknown."
ReplyDeleteHa! Sounds about right for most relationships I've seen in the ER.
Even in the intensity, there's that undercurrent of thoughtful reflection that I always appreciate in your work.
ReplyDeletethe focus on the mind being just as captivating as the physical; that's a theme I always connect with in your writing.
ReplyDeleteyou see the whole person so beautifully.
the medical terms give such a unique and almost clinical (in the best way!) perspective on the messy beauty of love
